Kogi Finally Gets Deputy Governor

After APC’s choice, Yahaya Bello was sworn in last month as the executive Governor of Kogi State, he had ruled the State these past days without a deputy. However that came to an end yesterday, Tuesday, 9thof February, 2016 when the Kogi State House of Assembly approved the nomination of a former Deputy Speaker of the State House of assembly, Mr Simeon Achuba, as the state’s deputy governor.

The approval was immediately followed by Achuba’s swearing-in behind closed doors without wasting time. Journalists who had rushed to the Banquet Hall of the Government House, the venue of the inauguration to cover the historical event were all shocked as they were barred from covering it.

Curiously the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mallam Abdulmalik Abdulkareem, and the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, who could have helped the helpless journalists were nowhere to be found.
