The English Premier League returns with a full
programme of fixtures following its inaugural winter break, with a London derby
lighting up the weekend.

Chelsea and Tottenham kick off the action on
Saturday with a lunchtime game at Stamford Bridge in the tussle for fourth
place.

Jose Mourinho’s latest reunion with the Blues
comes off the back of a third straight EPL victory for his Spurs side, who
pipped Aston Villa at the death last Sunday to go fifth in the table.

Frank Lampard’s team are well within reach of
their capital city foes after a grim sequence of results continued with a 2-0
loss at home to Manchester United on Monday night.

It leaves them just a point clear of Spurs in
fourth and winless in four Premier League attempts.

It was United’s first win in four, leaving Ole
Gunnar Solskjaer’s charges three points shy of the top four action in seventh
spot.

They now host Watford on Sunday, with the
Hornets heading to Old Trafford in desperate need of points to lift them back
out of the relegation zone.

Runaway leaders Liverpool continued their romp
towards a first title in the Premier League era when they edged past Norwich
last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s men must wait until Monday to
carry on their freewheeling form, when they host a West Ham side trapped inside
the relegation zone following a 2-0 midweek defeat at Manchester City, making
it six without a win for David Moyes’ side.

It was also a result that put City four points
clear of third-placed Leicester ahead of their meeting for the Saturday evening
kick off.

Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions head to the
King Power Stadium looking to further consolidate second spot, despite being
banned from the next two seasons of European football pending their appeal.

The Foxes, meanwhile, have won just once in
their last five in the EPL but still retain a nine-point buffer over Chelsea in
fourth ahead of the weekend.

Arsenal finally showed some signs of life amid
a morbund campaign when they thumped Newcastle 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium last
Sunday.

The Gunners host in-form Everton this Sunday,
with the ninth-placed Toffees unbeaten in five since New Year’s Day.

Sunday’s third fixture pits Wolves against
Norwich, with the hosts looking to reignite their Champions League push at
Molineux, while the visitors are more intent on delaying the inevitable of a
drop back to the Championship.

The four Saturday afternoon matches see a
squabble for places up and down the EPL table.

Surprise package Sheffield United can maintain
their unlikely pressure on the top four if they see off relegation-threatened
Brighton at Bramall Lane.

Burnley can inflict more pain on former boss
Eddie Howe when they host lowly Bournemouth at Turf Moor, with the Clarets
safely in mid-table following a fine run of ten points from their last 12.

Crystal Palace need to arrest their alarming
slide down the standings when they tackle Newcastle at Selhurst Park.

Southampton, meanwhile, are looking for a
return to their resurgence under boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The Saints have lost three of their last four
ahead of their home game with Aston Villa, who are deep in the relegation mire.
