Exercise for Weight Loss – Don’t break your hard-earned habits_1

“Exercise for Weight Loss” is an article series detailing the most successful exercise strategies that can be used to assist in speeding up the weight loss process, and help you end-up with a sleek, toned physique once your body weight gets down to your goal-weight.
Don’t break your hard-earned habits

So let’s say you’ve done the hard work of getting into exercising regularly. You’ve built it into your life, and are maintaining your routine to the best of your ability. You get three or four months in, making progress all the while. And then it happens.

You have a week where exercising seems impossible. The following week is busy too, and you decide to skip to make some time available. Week three of no exercise happens all by itself, and suddenly you can’t remember where you ever found the time to train.
The habit is gone.

If you succeed in making a habit, do yourself a favour and keep it, however difficult that may seem. Because starting a habit again, even one that was beneficial, is VERY, VERY tough.

So how do you keep the habit going, even in the ‘impossible’ weeks?

Well, I would recommend a couple of things. First, just because you can’t do the whole programme doesn’t mean you can’t do something. Do some squats, pushups, and situps first thing in the morning. Or at your desk between things while you work. You’ve got to stay in the zone of exercising. Also, follow some people on social media who have something to say about training, and read their inspiring info. Your brain will stay engaged this way.

The bottom line is that you have to stay in it if you want to keep it going. Starting from scratch is much harder than you think it’ll be. Don’t let yourself get there.
