Actress Tessa Thompson has been having a fabulous week in Hollywood – today (Thursday, 6 February), she was one of the hosts, along with Ava DuVernay and Dawn Hudson, of the sixth annual Oscars luncheon to honour the women nominees of the upcoming 92nd Academy Awards

And this week, her Sundance-starring film, Sylvie’s Love, was officially picked up by Amazon Studios for a high seven-figure USD pricetag. The period romance, directed by award-winning Eugene Ashe, features numerous costume changes and exquisite period costumes.

At the after party of her latest film Sylvie’s Love, which made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, Thompson chatted with the film’s director, Eugene Ashe, co-star Eva Longoria, and Nigerian-American co-star Nnamdi Asomugha.

The final presentation was an exquisite Chanel ballgown in cobalt blue, with long white gloves, sash and clutch purse, worn by Thompson in the film. “We were able to collaborate with Chanel on three different pieces that they loaned to us to dress Tessa in,” explained Mellow to All4Women.

“Tessa has 50 costume changes in the movie – and this blue ballgown in Chanel’s archived collections, specifically has been what (director) Eugene (Ashe) has talked about from the beginning, for the film.”
