Weather Warnings

  1. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the central and northern interior of the Western Cape, the Eastern Cape interior, the western parts of the Free-State, as well as the western parts of the North-West Province.

  2. Strong to Gale force north westerly winds (62 to 74km/h) are expected over the the central and eastern interior of the Western Cape, as well as the western interior of the Eastern Cape.


Weather Watches

  1. High seas with wave heights between 6-8m are expected between Cape Point and Plettenberg Bay and are expected to persist until Monday morning.

Strong north-westerly winds (50-60km/h) are expected over Karoo Hoogland Municipality (N.Cape), the Central and Little Karoo (W.Cape), as well as the interior of the Western Cape.

Temperature: Cloudy in the east at first with morning fog patches along the escarpment areas, otherwise fine and cool to warm but hot in the Lowveld.

Temperature: Fine and warm, windy in the west.

Northern Cape:


Temperature: Fine, windy and warm but cloudy and cool to cold with light rain in the west and south-west in the morning. It will become partly cloudy in the/\r\n/north-western parts in the afternoon.


Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh north-westerly to westerly, but strong at times, becoming moderate to fresh south-westerly in the afternoon.

Western Cape:


Temperature: Fine in the northeast, otherwise partly cloudy, cool and windy but cloudy with rain in the west spreading eastwards along the south coast towards/\r\n/the afternoon. It will be cold in the southwest.


Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-westerly to westerly reaching gale force along the south-west coast from mid-morning spreading along the south coast during the afternoon.

Eastern Cape:


The Western halfTemperature: Fine and warm, but cool along the coast where it will be partly cloudy from late afternoon.


The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly.


The Eastern halfTemperature: Fine and warm but hot in places south of the escarpment, becoming partly cloudy from the evening.


The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be fresh north-easterly, becoming strong southwesterly from late morning.

Temperature: Fine and warm but hot in the east, becoming partly cloudy in the extreme south at night.


Wind: The wind along the coast will be Fresh north-easterly becoming strong in the afternoon.
