At least five persons have been beheaded in Egbeda community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State as two rival cult gangs engaged in battle of supremacy.

A source in the community told Saturday Vanguard that the members of Icelanders cult and Deygbam have been locked in crisis.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, noted that shooting started Wednesday night and that over five people have been killed and beheaded.

The source revealed that the community has been deserted following the killings and alleged that security personnel, as at the time of this report, are not on hand to rescue the situation.

The source also stated that the government did not intervene in the situation, noting that a lot of the residents were stranded in neigbhouring communities.

Meantime, the Rivers State Police Command could not comment on the development based on the burial of the Commissioner of Police in the state, Late Mr. Francis Odesanya, which had taken most senior officers of the command of the state.
