Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe has been awarded the French Ligue 1 golden boot for the 2019-20 season.
This is coming after France football authorities last week, cancelled the remainder of the league season amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
Mbappe's club PSG were declared champions on a points-per-game basis, as they were ahead of second place Marseille by a staggering 12 points when the competition was suspended.
The young prodigy has now been confirmed as the league's highest goal scorer after he was considered ahead of Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder even though they are level on 18 goals. Ligue 1 confirmed via its official website on Thursday that Mbappe will be recognised as the season's top scorer as all his goals came from open play, while three of Ben Yedder's were penalties.
Mbappe, who scored his 18 goals in just 20 games, was also considered because of his superior goals-per-game ratio.
