Heartbroken Sam Smith cancels MORE gigs with doctors concerned for singer's health

Singer, Sam Smith has cancelled more gigs following last night's drama at Manchester Arena, with the singer telling their fans doctors have advised them to rest their vocal cords or risk causing permanent damage to their voice

Yesterday, Sam smith left the stage at the AO Arena after just four songs, leaving fans in the crowd wondering what was going on and suspecting a power cut or technical issue had occurred.

However, he took to Instagram  a few hours later and apologised to their fans, explaining an issue with their voice was the reason behind the abrupt early finish to their show.

Sam has taken to social media to issue a new statement - revealing more gigs have been cancelled.

The statement shared on the Unholy singer's Instagram Stories reads: "DUE TO VOCAL ISSUES DURING LAST NIGHT'S MANCHESTER PERFORMANCE, REGRETTABLY WE WILL BE CANCELLING THE RESCHEDULED BIRMINGHAM AND GLASGOW SAM SMITH SHOWS. REFUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT POINT OF PURCHASE FOR ALL THREE DATES; MANCHESTER, BIRMINGHAM AND GLASGOW.

"A SPOKESPERSON SAID 'DOCTORS HAVE ADVISED DUE TO A VOCAL CORD INJURY, SAM MUST HAVE COMPLETE VOCAL REST. SAM IS HEARTBROKEN TO HAVE HAD TO CANCEL THESE SHOWS BUT THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD BY DOCTORS THAT IF THEY KEEP SINGING, THEY WILL DO PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THEIR VOICE.

"IF THEY TAKE SOME REST THEY WILL BE ABLE TO PERFORM AGAIN."
When sharing the statement to their 14.7million followers on Instagram, Sam added: "I'm so sorry [heartbroken emoji]."

Sam Smith's gig in Manchester ended abruptly on Wednesday night leaving fans confused, angry and worried about the award-winning singer.
