Davido & Don Jazzy Urges Nigerians To Stay At Home Despite FG Easing Lockdown

Nigerian music icons Davido and Don Jazzy has exhorted Nigerians to stay at home as videos of Lagosians disregarding social distancing protocols went viral today.

Lagos, Abuja and Ogun State has been on lockdown since March 30 so as to contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

However, the federal government eased the lockdown today May 4th and laid down some rules to help in fighting the virus.

The rules includes Social distancing, compulsory use of masks, curfews amongst others. But this rules were totally disregarded today as Lagosians came out in their thousands to go back to work.

Pictures and videos of crowds in banks, bus parks, and streets went viral causing Nigerians to fear that this could worsen the pandemic in the country.

And the DMW and Mavins label bosses have taken to the micro-blogging platform Twitter to react.

"Hmmm we are playing with fire .... let's not jonze !!! Stay indoors we not outside please fam !!" Davido tweeted

"See crowds and fights outside banks to enter the banking halls. My people, instead of going into the bank and increasing the chances of you getting exposed to the virus and also taking it back home to others...," Don Jazzy tweeted.

"You can do all of your banking services and transactions from your phone when you open a V bank account. Please protect yourself and your loved ones, download the V app and take charge of your banking. #BankwithV," he continued.
